Abstract
Summary form only given. The paper reviews the latest achievements in the field of investigation phenomena of electron and ion emission from plasma as well as in the design of high current broad beam plasma cathode electron and ion sources. The presented results were obtained by the Tomsk research group, which is well-known for the fundamental investigation in this kind of plasma physics and by creation of the sources with the top record parameters. Some of the presented results are a product of collaboration between the Tomsk group and the other laboratories (GSI, Darmstadt, Germany; LBL, Univ. of California, Berkeley).
