Abstract :
In this paper, a novel common-source type boost-forward single-stage PFC topology was proposed. By adding a second wind to the transformer, and using two active-clamp switches connected in common-source type, an active-clamp ZVS (zero voltage switching) could be obtained with a simple PWM control and output voltage feedback. The proposed topology was experimentally verified through the construction of a 15 V/8 A prototype unit operating at 100 kHz switching frequency, and input voltage of 100 Vrms, the power factor of above 0.957 and highest efficiency of 89.4% is obtained.
