Abstract :
A novel wind energy conversion system composed of dual stator windings permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) and two half-controlled converters (HCC) is proposed. The dual stator windings of the PMSG are phase shifted by 0 or 180 electric degrees and each HCC has only three switches. The control strategy based on rotor flux oriented vector control and coordinated current control without position or speed sensor is proposed for PMSG. The operation performance of the proposed system and control scheme are investigated by the simulation on Matlab/Simulink. The simulation results indicate that proposed PMSG system can achieve the stable electromagnetic torque and the controllable output power.
