Abstract
The results of investigations of electron work function of lithium, including original ones obtained in conditions of ultra-high static vacuum on polycrystalline films of lithium of different purity, have been discussed. The lack of studies and experimental data on electron work function of lithium in literature has been shown. Our data reveal that increasing purity of initial samples of lithium (LE - 1 grade) by one order leads to increase of EWF by 7-10% while the temperature coefficient decreases six times in absolute value.
