Abstract :
Fuzzy methods are often discussed, and they may play an important role in the construction of knowledge-based systems. This paper discusses the main fields of knowledge-processing which are influenced by fuzzy methods, starting from set-theoretical considerations. The experiences of the authors in constructing expert systems in the fields of configuration and process control are comprehended and partially generalized
