Abstract :
The authors have conducted 10 Gb/s transmission over 360 km of AT&T embedded standard fiber cables. During the five month long field experiment, the 1.55 μm-10 Gb/s IM/DD system has shown long term “error free” transmission (less than 10-16 BER) with an optical repeater spacing of 120 km (33 dB repeater span loss)
