Abstract
This paper is an attempt to assemble data from various sources in order to give the reader information to evaluate the choice between liquid and dry type transformers. The choice is controlled by the application, location, cost or combination of any of the three. In order to limit the size of the paper, the kVA sizes and voltages have been limited to those most commonly used in industrial applications in the United States. Only ANSI and NEMA standards are used in this paper.
