Abstract :
Summary from only given. We have characterized the first visible microchip lasers made in a self-frequency doubling Ca/sub 4/GdO(BO/sub 3/)/sub 3/:Nd (GdCOB:Nd) material. A green power up to 21 mW has been obtained. Moderate diode pumping (0.8 W) results in a 2 mW output power at 530 nm with a good spatial quality and satisfying power stability.
