  • Abstract
    The morphological shape decomposition algorithms allows a shape to be represented as a collection of modestly overlapping disk components. This study introduces a lossless data compression techniques based on shape decomposition algorithms. The method consists of identification of skeleton points and the disk size for representation of shape element for any given shape. In this paper, the compression ratio (CR) is calculated for the evaluation of a new data compression technique. Two new algorithms CMD for compression and RMD for reconstruction are presented for the improvement of morphologically based coding scheme.
