Abstract :
This paper proposes a novel single-phase to three-phase power converter, which based on matrix converter. The proposed matrix converter has current-source type function and single-phase to three-phase power conversion. Output voltage waveforms of the proposed matrix converter have quite low harmonics. Furthermore, the proposed matrix converter has boost voltage ability. Hence, the proposed system can achieve high efficiency motor design. The proposed control method is based on virtual AC/DC/AC power conversion approach to determine the switching state of the proposed current-source type single-phase to three-phase matrix converter. Validity of the proposed system proves by simulation and experimental results.
