Abstract
Summary from only given. We demonstrate for the first time that a dispersive saturable absorption mirror (D-SAM) with positive group velocity dispersion (GVD) can be used for implementing a short cavity stretched-pulse fiber laser without employing dispersion compensating fiber. Changing the amount of negative dispersion, accomplished by the wavelength tuning, allows for direct comparison of pulse energy extraction in the soliton supporting dispersion regime and in stretched pulse mode-locking regime.
