Abstract :
In this paper, the Symbol Error Rate (SER) performance for OSTBC-OFDM systems over Nakagami-m fading channels is analyzed. Accordingly, a novel generalized closed-form SER expression is proposed. In order to derive the closed-form SER expressions, we incorporate hypergeometric functions into the conventional Probability Density Function (PDF) approach. At the mean time, the proposed exact closed-form SER expression is a generalized solution, since it perfectly describes OSTBC-OFDM systems using QAM modulation schemes that having different antenna configurations and experiencing various fading conditions. Finally, Monte Carlo simulation results are provided in order to demonstrate the nearly perfect match between simulation results and our analytical expressions1.
