Abstract
The report represents a review on production and application of wide-area (tens of square centimeters), low-energy (20-40 keV), high-current (10-30 kA) electron beams. Such beams are of great interest for material surface treatment: increasing the corrosion resistance of metals and alloys, smoothing (polishing) the surface, improvement the electric strength of vacuum insulation.
