Abstract :
Most organizations have been, or will soon be, affected by downsizing. The 1995 AMA Survey of 1003 organizations reported that one in four organizations have plans to eliminate jobs before the end of 1996 (the highest future index in the survey´s 8-year history). This survey also compares the leading reasons given for downsizing. This paper presents recommendations for the management of the personnel who remain following organizational downsizing.
