Abstract
A lab-on-a-chip device is being developed to meet the need for improved diagnostics in the developing world. This device will have the ability to run immunochromatographic assays as a method for disease detection. The device will utilize one-way valves and pressure-activated channels to conduct the assay. The successful design of a chip that conducts immunochromatographic assays could lead to the development of future chips designed to diagnose specific diseases in the developing world.
