Abstract
Summary form only given. Structural characteristics of plasma sprayed catalytic and tribological coatings depend on more than 50 external factors. Significant differences in size and shape of coating grains may be observed during the deposition process when metal oxide dispersed particles are placed into different zones of the reactor channel or directly injected into the plasma torch arc reacting area together with the plasma forming gas [1]. So called plasma spray pyrolysis occur in some particular regimes which may be successfully applied in the synthesis of micron- and submicron-sized uniform shaped coatings with narrow size pores and controlled surface morphologies.
