Abstract
This paper describes the use of nonlinear ferroelectric materials for the generation of high voltage shock waves and solitons. A new material, SbSI, which has not previously been used in this field has been found to have particularly good nonlinear properties in comparison to other ferroelectric materials. Its nonlinear dielectric characteristics are described with special reference to the generation of high voltage shock waves and solitons
