  • Abstract
    Conducting graphitic nanowires embedded within a nonconducting matrix can be manufactured using swift heavy ion irradiation of diamond-like carbon or fullerene thin films. A possibility of increase of conductivity of the wires by doping of the films by metal atoms/nanoclusters to make field emitters will be discussed. Work was supported by RFBR (grant 13-02-92709) and by DST of India.
