Title :
High-speed uncooled DFB lasers for LAN applications
Author_Institution :
Agilent Technol., Ipswich, UK
Abstract :
Summary form only given. Low cost, uncooled, fibre-optic transceiver modules have enabled explosive growth in the use of fiber optics technology in the local area network (LAN). For high temperature operation of a DFB laser, researchers have proposed new material systems such as AlInGaAs quantum wells which have a high characteristic temperature, InGaAsP buried (pnpn) heterostructure devices have also shown good high temperature performance.
