Abstract
Knowledge Base Grid realizes worldwide sharing, discovery, and coordinated using of knowledge base resources. Ontology acts as the public standard and interchange format in Knowledge Base Grid. One of the most important effects of ontology is that it makes the grid reasoning possible. In this paper, we introduce the Distributed Petri Net, which is used to enable Knowledge Base Grid reasoning. Distributed Petri Net is the improvement of the basic Petri Net. A URI is added into the Petri Net model, which connects the distributed sub Petri Nets of reasoning. In the option of Distributed Petri Net, the Knowledge Base Grid is a hierarchical network. Distributed Petri Net models the Knowledge Base Grid at a high abstract level, therefore it fits not only the entire network model but also part of it, which is also a hierarchical sub-network.
