Abstract :
In the paper, a real-time temperature monitoring system based on fiber Bragg grating is developed firstly, which measure the temperature at the surface of the power cables. And the measured data is sent to the central monitoring sever, which will analyze the measured temperature of the power cables. And calculation for the current capacity will be carried out by different data fitting method and double-point secant method, which can offer a reference for the dispatch, and improve the efficiency of the power cables. In order to verify the reliability of systems, three different environments (cable channels, pipes, cable tunnels) for the power cables were selected for the application of the system.
