Abstract :
Linear induction accelerators(LIAs) require the electron sources that can deliver high current strength and have good brightness for the beam quality. The paper mainly introduces the application of the thermionic cathodes including “M” type and scandate cathodes in LIAs that have been used VEDs and the key points of the fabrication of the cathode assemblies.
