Abstract
This paper describes the improvement of the stability of a low phase noise microwave source at 9.6 GHz using a fiber-based fs-frequency-comb and an optical reference frequency. We show that the stability of the optical clock can be transferred to the microwave domain without tight locking of the frequency comb.
