Abstract
Optical interferometry is one of the most versatile and accurate measurement techniques available for the scientist and engineer but is also known to be easily disturbed when used outside a well controlled research lab. Recent advances in theory and availability of photonic hardware and calculation efficiency have, however, increased the applications in which interferometry can be used considerably. In this presentation the fundamental theory of information extraction from interferometry will be reviewed and a few examples of measurements made possible by these advances will be presented.
