Abstract :
The control of the circulation and water masses distribution through the sole forcing due to the pressure gradient at the strait is addressed through a numerical model of the Gibraltar exchange system. This exchange model proves suitable to simulate the complex distribution of Mediterranean waters both for the bottom flow and meddies formation
