Abstract
An analysis model is proposed to investigate the effects of parameters on efficiency and power factor of induction motor in field weakening operation, considering the influence of magnetic saturation. The field oriented control and maximum torque per ampere control strategy are adopted for the steady state performance calculation in the field weakening region. Based on the comparison by variations of design schemes, rotor shapes and inverter current limits, some useful design principles for better field weakening performance are proposed.
