Abstract
Object Web technologies got a lot of attention during the past few years. Especially the combination of CORBA and Web standards lead to a flood of research projects and new products. Meanwhile, there is a number of commercial examples of Object Web infrastructures and we think it is important to take stock in between. In this paper we provide a case study of a large-scale sales information system based on CORBA and Web techniques. It illustrates the basic concept and serves as a basis to analyze the state-of-the-practice and to give an overview of the most recent trends in this field
