Great changes have taken place in China´s higher education which is currently facing up to the mounting competition pressure from around the world, since education is one of the twelve service industries that China has promised to open up to the world. As an indispensable part of higher education, athletics is thus of no exception. Therefore, it´s the time that we should ??take the chances and keep up with the times??. This paper discusses the ways to adapt our athletics to international requirements without abandoning the traditional Chinese athletic culture, so that we may bring up more all-round students that are needed in this new century.
