Abstract
Magnetic noise requirements depend dramatically on the location of shipboard type equipment relative to the magnetic sensing devices of different types. Sometimes a designer has to make these levels from 10 to 100 times lower to meet domestic or international regulations. The report presents an overview of the magnetic silencing as a technology program that allows designers and manufacturing engineers to use and update the suggested methods progressively. It is easier to accept successful design expertise thereby shrinking the development time for new magnetically quiet ships
