Abstract :
Explicit architecture-oriented modelling could help in coping with the complexity of today´s field-bus systems. However, there are few practicable concepts for extending wide spread programming techniques and standards of an architecture-driven design. A new component composition model is outlined that seeks to enable collaboration-based assembly in order to develop applications of field-devices and repositories for reusing of components. It takes into account the specific properties of this application area building up a port-based composition, which is a well known and established method of modelling automation systems.
