Abstract :
In this paper a commercial converter for an electric vehicle drive is analyzed with focus on power losses and efficiency. Therefore, two model structures of an AC/DC converter are described. The first model is based on a table of the power losses which arises from measurements. In the second model the power losses are calculated based on the electrical characteristics of the employed power semiconductors. The comparison of measurement and calculation of the power losses of the converter leads to great agreement.
