Abstract :
Soil roughness has a big impact on the soil microwave radiation and how to correct the influence of soil roughness is the key issue of soil moisture content inversion using passive microwave. Based on the analysis of the soil emissivity database simulated by AIEM model, a new soil moisture content and soil roughness inversion algorithm using dual-polarized L-band passive microwave remote sensing data was proposed. The soil moisture and roughness can be retrievaled by using the 47 degree angle dual-polarized microwave brightness temperature data and the soil infrared temperature products. The initial verification results shows that the algorithm have a high inversion precision for the most of the natural bare soil and the inversion accuracy of soil moisture content and soil roughness are less than 0.015 and 0.047 respectively.
