Abstract :
RapidEye is a constellation of five satellites run by Germany. It has a wide application prospect due to its advantages of wide coverage, short repetition cycle, high resolution and abundant multi-spectral bands. This paper analyzes and evaluates RapidEye satellite image quality from the aspects of spatial resolution, band synchronization, information content and band correlation, and then makes a thorough study on the schemes of its true color composition. It proposes a "RedNewGreen-Blue" band composition scheme that simulates natural true color. Some valuable and constructive conclusions are also drawn by this paper.
