Abstract
NaNbO3 -based piezoelectric ceramics NaNbO3 - BaTiO3 - SrTiO3 have been synthesized by conventional solid state sintering method, and their dielectric and piezoelectric properties have been studied. The dielectric, piezoelectric, and electromechanical properties of 0.88NaNbO3 - 0.11BaTiO3 -0.01SrTiO3 ceramics were found to be the cubic-tetragonal phase transition temperature (Tc)= 220degC, the orthorhombic-tetragonal phase transition temperature (Tot)= -60degC, dielectric constant epsivs=917, piezoelectric coefficient d33=118 pC/N, and electromechanical coupling factor kp=0.27. The ceramics is a good candidate material for lead-free piezoelectric ceramic actuator application.
