Abstract :
This paper presents a comparison of the radial and tangential excitations of rotor structures for low-speed permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG). Under the condition of the same stator construction and the same stator winding distribution, each rotor structure performance of PMSG is simulated by the finite element analysis (FEA). Finnally, the advantages and drawbacks of two different PMSGs are summaried taking into account not only special environment factors but also costs aspects.
