Abstract :
Protein-protein interaction (PPI) networks provided valuable information for understanding the cellular function and biological processes. With the geometric increase in human protein interaction data, PPI network approach is significance to analyze the molecular mechanisms of disease, particularly to understand the phenomenon of carcinogenesis. In this study, the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were mined from the data sets of lung squamous carcinoma and adenocarcinoma, respectively. The corresponding proteins of DEGs and cancer-related PPI pairs were search with related database, and then, the cancer-related PPI networks were constructed based on Cytoscape software. In order to elucidate the molecular mechanism of lung carcinogenesis from protein interaction levels, the characterizations of hub proteins and hub co-expressed proteins of lung squamous carcinoma and adenocarcinoma were analyzed from cancer-related PPI networks. The results suggest that hub proteins more likely as Molecular Group approach to participate in lung carcinogenesis. Furthermore, hub co-expression proteins might act as evolutionary selection of biological processes of lung carcinogenesis, and theirs expressions and interactions are might related to poor prognosis in lung squamous carcinoma and adenocarcinoma.
