  • Abstract
Computer simulation is essential for scientific research. Comparison and evaluation of Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithms for Photovoltaic (PV) array are also done in simulation because any irradiation and temperature conditions can be set up. In the conventional methods, Newton-Raphson method has been applied to nonlinear equations to obtain operational points of a PV array. In other methods, the point is obtained with combination of I-V curves of each PV module. In this paper, a new simple method to obtain the operational point of PV array is proposed. In this method, one variable Newton-Raphson method is repeated in place of expanding the number of variable to multivariable in the Newton-Raphson method. The proposed method was compared with the conventional combination method and proven to be accurate and speedier than the conventional one.
