Abstract :
Uncorrelated Gaussian noise is often assumed when estimating the harmonic parameters of periodic signals from digitized data. It is demonstrated here that the noise at the output of high-resolution integrating digital sampling voltmeters can be regarded uncorrelated for all practical purposes when white noise is added to the input signal.
