Abstract
Many thyristor models exist that are either impractical to implement in a SPICE simulator, or do not model transient turn-on performance accurately. An empirical SPICE model is developed for thyristors to model turn-on performance. Silicon Power´s CCS SC 14N40 is selected for simulation. The process of model determination is detailed and simulation results are compared to experiments.
