Abstract :
This paper proposes an approach of reactive power allocation with considering the transmission losses, which is based on manipulation of proportional sharing principle. After power flow solution is computed, the equivalent transmission line model is introduced by integrating shunt admittances into nearby buses. The loss at each line is removed and attributed to the sending end bus and treated as a virtual load. This situation will make the system lossless. Then the distribution matrix is used to trace the contribution of individual generators to loads and losses. In this paper, 5-bus system and 25-bus equivalent system of southern Malaysia are used to show the effectiveness of the proposed method. The comparison with other method is also given.
