Abstract :
The most accuracy solid state gyroscopes are the gyro based on Sagnac principal of light. Unfortunately, the gyro can not be miniaturized due to the needs of long light-path to increase the phase difference. The problem of this obstacle is that the speed of light is too fast and the phase change due to the light speed is too small to be detected. It is strongly needs a solution to increase the phase change by decreasing the light speed! For that purpose, the atomic wave gyro had been proposed based on the freeze atom technology, which will reduce the speed of light according to the quantum mechanics principle, it does works but the extra large equipment will be needed, and no way to make the atom wave gyro in MEMS scale. This paper is formulating a waveguide gyro based on the author´s previous work. From the theoretical formulation, the wave guide gyro is 1000 times accuracy and sensitive than Sagnac gyro at the situation of having same length of waveguide.
