Abstract
The more redundant motor is a kind of special motor, which is developed to enhance reliability of motors in some safety critical applications. In this paper, the mathmatical models such as power converter model, nonlinear motor model and state equations for a PM dual redundancy brushless DC (DRBLDC) servo system were proposed. In these models, the mutual coupling for the self and mutual inductances between phases in each redundancy is considered. By using this proposed system model, the dynamic performances and characteristics for the DRBLDC servo system are predicted and analyzed. Simulation and experimental results are compared in a 3kW DRBLDC servo system to verify the proposed modeling and characteristics analysis.
