Abstract :
Aiming at a short-term information distribution model a multi-destination multicast routing protocol was presented. It made use of unicast routing information to realize multicast transmission. The intermediate node forwarded multicast packets for the relative destinations according to the destination field and its own routing table. It needed no maintenance of the multicast tree and multicast group. Under this application model, the protocol has comparative packet delivery rate with unicast routing protocols, less transmission overhead and less control bit overhead than the unicast and the other multicast routing protocol.
