Abstract :
This paper presents a new structure of levitation system. The proposed levitation system adopts axial flux induction motor (AFIM) to provide levitated motion, of which contains three coils and three slots and the secondary is Non-magnetic conductor. The mathematic model of the 3D transient magnetic field for AFIM is established. And the character of axial flux induction motor is studied. Experiments were performed to confirm the theoretical analysis. All of the results can provide very useful information of mechanical-structure design and control scheme development for the axial field induction motor.
