Abstract :
In this paper, we analyze the system capacity of a TDD-CDMA based cellular system. TDD-CDMA system can flexibly allocate the radio resources between uplink and downlink in normal one-hop cellular system. Furthermore, it is a best solution for multi-hop cellular systems, in which uplink/downlink transmission need more radio resources to support. To the authors´ best knowledge, all previous analysis papers gave the results only based on the whole cell coverage. No insightful information is discovered about what the system capacity is with different cell coverage or what the average system capacity is. In this paper, we first analyze the TDD-CDMA uplink/downlink interference with different BS coverage area. After that, the blocking probability, when n users are within one time slot, is given. Based on this probability, we get the average number of users that system could support per time slot. Finally, simulation results are given to verify the analysis results
