Abstract :
Based on IEEE 802.15.3a indoor multi-path channel model, the parameter design of time hopping impulse radio (TH-IR) signals, including pulse waveforms and time hopping parameters, was analyzed by a semi-analysis method and Monte Carlo simulation. The influence of the fractional bandwidth of baseband pulse (the order of Gaussian pulse´s derivative) on multi-path fading was simulated. The effects of time hopping parameters on BER performance of a single user TH-IR system using Rake receivers were studied. Given the bit rate of a TH-IR system, the design guidelines of time hopping parameters were proposed to optimize the BER performance
