Abstract
The Internet is emerging as the prevailing infrastructure for buying and selling over electronic media. In the electronic marketplace the role of the traditional store is undertaken by systems applications (electronic stores) supporting purchasing transactions. Guidance and exchange of experiences related to the development of such applications is at this point scarce. This paper is a synthesis of relevant frameworks, system development methods and the authors´ own experience in developing electronic stores which aims to provide a comprehensive guide for practice in this area. The principal characteristic of the proposed development approach is the combination of technology- and business-oriented considerations
