  • Abstract
    A single feed square microstrip antenna with truncated corners is designed using FEKO software. This antenna has much improved parameters compared to the conventional square microstrip antenna, mainly in the case of VSWR and reflection coefficient. The main problem encountered is that it is difficult to design a microstrip patch antenna due to the involvement of a large number of physical parameters with their associated optimal values. In order to solve this problem, an alternative solution used is artificial neural networks (ANN). The parameters considered here are return loss and VSWR. These parameters are finally compared and the results analysed.
