Abstract
The concept of flux memory is due to the nature that the magnetization level of the AlNiCo permanent magnet in the motor can be easily regulated by a DC current pulse and memorized automatically. In this paper, a new stator-permanent-magnet doubly salient flux memory motor drive is proposed. By regulating the magnetization level of the permanent magnets, the new motor can operate at double modes, the doubly salient permanent-magnet mode and the switch reluctance mode. Theoretic analysis, simulation and experimental results all confirm the validity of the proposed dual-mode operations of the motor.
