Abstract
In this paper, two schemes of traditional linear frequency modulated continuous wave (LFMCW) source are analyzed. Based on the analysis, a novel LFMCW scheme of the real-time tracking the direct digital frequency synthesis (DDS) by the phase locked loop (PLL) is proposed. The frequency of the LFMCW source´s output signal ranges from 1.5 GHz to 1.8 GHz. Compared with traditional schemes, the new scheme is characterized by the following features: high linearity, high stability, immune to environmental influence, good spur suppression and low phase noise, etc.
